"Narugopal Dutta (45) and Champa Das (38) died at a local hospital this evening after sustaining serious injury following jumping from the running Malda-Howrah Intercity Express," GRP OC Tushar Kanti Sardar said.
Dutta was going to leave his sister Champa at the in-law's house at Baharan village near Gangatikuri, Champa's husband Sanatan Das said. They boarded the express train at Salar station by mistake and jumped together at Gangatikuri station when it did not stop there, Sardar said. They were rushed to Katwa Sub-Divisional Hospital in a seriously injured state.
