Going a step ahead and on the eve of Earth Hour day, "all Wipro facilities across the globe shut off their comfort cooling air conditioning between 8.30 AM and 9.30 AM local time," the company said in a statement here.
The saving of more than 19,000 units of electricity translated to a reduction of around 16 metric tons of C02 emissions, it said.
Employees were also encouraged to celebrate Earth Hour in their individual capacity tomorrow by switching off lights at their homes at 8.30 PM, it said.
