‘Allied Ragas’

Ananya is organising ‘Allied Ragas-11’, a thematic music programme series on ragas, at Ananya Sabhangana, 91/2, 4th Main, Malleswaram on March 27, 10 am onwards. Vasantha Madhavi, accompanied by Matturu Srinidhi and N Vasudeva, will perform on the occasion.

Theatre jam

‘Mythcatchers’, a theatre jam event will be held at Cubbon Park (Bandstand), on March 27 between 4 pm and 6 pm.

The event will offer an open platform to storytellers, myth lovers and the audience to share their favourite myths and engage in a discussion about the relevance and importance of myths in our times.

‘Chaitra Kalarava’

A special jugalbandi concert by veena maestro Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhat and violin maestro Mysore Manjunath, followed by a dance ballet, will be held on March 27, 6 pm at the Glass House, Raj Bhavan.

This programme, called Chaitra Kalarava, is presented by Doordarshan Kendra, Bangalore and Raj Bhavan.

‘Reservoir Dogs’

On the occasion of World Theatre Day, Dramanon is staging Quentin Tarantino’s English play ‘Reservoir Dogs’ at Alliance Francaise on March 27, 4.30 pm and 7.30 pm. The director of the play is Nakul Bhalla. ‘Reservoir Dogs’ is an on-stage adaptation of Quentin Tarantino’s cult classic film of the same name. Five total strangers team up for a perfect crime. After their well-planned heist goes haywire, the eccentric bunch of urban outlaws attempt to identify the rat in their midst. Thus begins a taut and menacing story laced with bursts of absurd and unexpected humour. ‘Reservoir Dogs’ is a dark tale of greed, trust, friendship and betrayal. Entry is free.


Neenaanadre Naaneena, the play, will be staged on March 26 and 27 at 7.30 pm. On March 27, there will be a show at 3.30 pm also. The venue is Ranga Shankara. The play is the Kannada version of William Shakespeare’s ‘Comedy of Errors’ and is set in Bangalore. It is produced by Sanket, written and directed by Surendranath, with Sihikahi Chandru in the lead.

He is supported by Pa Pa Pandu Jahangir, Srinath Vasishta and Kalpana Naganath. The sets are designed by M S Sathyu and the music is scored by V Manohar. For online booking, log on to

‘Kala Utsav’

State Bank of India, in association with Gallery Time and Space, is presenting Kala Utsav, art for charity, on March 26 and 27 at the SBI Auditorium, local head office campus, between 11 am and 7 pm. The exhibition is a broad spectrum view of Indian contemporary art, showcasing more than 50 painters and sculptors from India and also has paintings by the children of the Spastics Society of Karnataka.  

Solo performance

Sanchaari Theatre and Jaagruthi Mahilla Adhyayana Kendra, on the occasion of ‘World Theatre Day’ and ‘Women's Day Centenary’ are presenting Vaidehi Kavya Torana, a poetry recitation, and Urmila, a solo performance by Mangala N, on March 27, 10 am at B M Sri Pratishtana, N R Colony. The playwright is H S Venkatesh Murthy.

Carnatic vocal

Vamshi Academy of Music Trust is holding a grand vocal recital on its premises at 1667(9/2), 10th Main, A Block, 2nd Stage, Rajajinagar, on March 27, 6 pm. On the occasion, Pallavi Vasanth will present a Carnatic vocal recital. He will be accompanied by K J K Sridhar on the violin and V S Rajagopal on the mridangam.
