Ajay Bhushan had by far the toughest assignment on the day, having to draw on his reserves to get past a battling Yogesh M 47-58, 63-12, 67-43, 18-70, 63-25.
 In the 33rd Junior State-ranking snooker tournament, Mundir Sherazi ran out an emphatic 66-27, 40-26, 60-5 winner against ML Lakshman, while Zia Ur Rehman was forced to sweat it out before clinching a 3-2 win over Santosh R.
