According to Kashampur, the farmer named Basavannappa Chikkanagaon in Bidar taluk committed suicide on July 13 for power scarcity and failure of rains. The suicide note was in Marathi.
Kashampur, who is also JD(S) deputy floor leader, produced the note while debating on the issue of fertiliser shortage in the State. The farmer has also said he does not have money and has loan in both a cooperative bank and a private bank, he stated.
