Lokayukta traps two in separate cases

He has been accused of demanding bribe to debit daily wages into a bank account of a labourer working under the MGNREGS.

Kenkere villager Renukaiah was a beneficiary of the employment guarantee scheme, who completed his work in the required time. For paying the wages, Boralingaiah had demanded
Rs 1,100 from Renukaiah. Having refused to pay the bribe, Renukaiah complained to the Lokayukta.

Village Accountant Ramegowda of Gananguru Village, Srirangapatna Taluk, Mandya District has fallen into the trap of the Lokayuktha for receiving bribe from an agriculturist.

Farmer N D Ramesh had complained to the Lokayukta that Ramegowda had demanded bribe for change of khata of 11 guntas of land.

The village accountant had told Ramesh that the records were in Mandya and asked for the money to be handed over in the city. While handing over the money at Hopcoms in the city, he was trapped by a team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Basavaraj. A case has been registered.
