Neck-deep 'devotion' brought India victory

Last Updated 31 March 2011, 19:17 IST

While some organised ‘yajna' and offered prayers and some others observed fast,  the ‘neck-deep water act’ of this Baba on Wednesday in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura for the victory of ‘Men in Blue’ apparently left many jaw-opened. The Baba, also known as ‘Falahari’ (someone, who survives only on fruits) stood neck deep in the sacred Yamuna river at Vrindavan, a famous religious town near Mathura, to ‘ensure’  Indian team had the last laugh at Mohali.

According to sources, the ‘Falahari Baba’ came out of the waters only after Team India won the match. The Baba, according to his disciples in Vrindavan, reached the banks of the river early on Wednesday morning and, after performing ‘pooja’,   remained in the water for hours till the match was over.
