KRS Road to re-open in May?

Babus inspect and assess the progress of work

In a press release here, Dr Anup Dayanand Sadhu, senior divisional commercial manager, South Western Railway, Mysore Division, has said the work of widening of KRS Bridge as well as increasing the width of the road was taken up by Railways in coordination with Public Works Department (PWD) and Mysore City Corporation (MCC) from June 1, 2010, with a targeted completion of 9 months (Till February, 2011).
However, due to temporary suspension of work during Dasara, the work could not be completed as scheduled by February 2011.

The work of Railway Bridge has since been completed and the left over work relating to underground drainage as well as retention wall are being done by PWD and the work is in full swing.

He said a review was done two days ago by Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta along with the commissioner of MCC and divisional railway manager, to assess the progress of work.

The representatives of PWD as well as MCC were present. After the inspection of the left over work, the DC instructed the PWD and MCC officials to complete the road work latest by middle of May 2011 so that the road becomes available to public before the onset of monsoon.
