Parents sending copy chits through policemen was a common scene at the examination centre, which is known for mass copying.

The teachers went a step ahead by dictating answers to students at the examination hall.

It is said the vigilance squads usually don’t come anywhere near the Chittargi centre and even if they do so, the staff have mastered the art of sending the squads back convinced within a short time. Police were mute spectators as some parents supplied copy chits to their children.

The brazenness doesn’t stop here. Kannada teachers were found writing answers in duplicate (using carbon paper), 20 minutes before the examination began. The rule that a teacher should not be appointed invigilator at the same school was also violated at the Sangameshwara High School in Kudalasangama.

Deputy Director of Public Instruction, when contacted over phone, said he would visit the examination centre.

“There is no justice for students who have studied hard. Teachers today dictated answers for 60 marks,” a student told Deccan Herald.

Meanwhile, the DDPI visited the examination centre for just 10 minutes, and as soon as he left, mass copying resumed.
