IT raids on Yogeeshwara's house

Documents on property, revenue generated from various sources are seized

A team of 25 officials began the raids at around 7 am and continued the raid till 10 am. The officials have seized several documents pertaining to property and revenue generated from various sources.

A three-time MLA from the Congress representing the Channapatna Assembly constituency, Yogeeshwara recently quit the Congress and joined the BJP.

He is likely to be the BJP candidate for Channapatna Assembly by-polls scheduled on August 8.

During the last general elections, he contested on a BJP ticket from Bangalore Rural and tasted the defeat at the hands of former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy.

A big bungalow on 5th Cross at Channapatna, a house at his native village Chekkere, a garment factory in his brother’s name at Chekkere and Mega City Developers’ office at Sheshgirihalli, a Fashion Forum of India on Mysore Road, a flat at Padmanabhanagar in Bangalore and an office at Kengal Hanumantharaya Road were raided.

It is said that 500 acres to 600 acres of land for the Mega City Project, 7 acres to 8 acres land at Chekkere village and a huge bungalow are in the name of his brother C P Rajesh, while garment factory at Channapatna, huge office premises taken on lease by paying Rs two crore on Double Road in Bangalore belongs to Yogeeshwara.
