A modern eclectic collection

Sabyasachi is the ‘Grand Finale Designer’ at the forthcoming ‘Fashion Week’.

Sabyasachi’s ‘ Finale Collection’ is an ode to modernism. Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Pedro Almodovar and the 60s and 70s converge to create a modern eclectic collection, entirely hand crafted out of Indian fabrics. The collection travels across Spain to Peru to Argentina with flashes of rural India. It has a schizophrenic balance of pastoral nomadity and urban intellectualism, where voodoo dolls and tango dancers meet, with Bohemian cowgirls and katputli princesses.

Atul Chand, Divisional Chief Executive - ITC’s Lifestyle Retailing Business Division, said, “This year, Wills Lifestyle completes 10 glorious years and we are delighted to announce Sabyasachi Mukherjee as the ‘Grand Finale Designer’. Sabyasachi’s collections are known for international styling with an Indian soul thus showcasing true heritage of India.”

Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI said, “Sabyasachi is one of the most coveted designers of the country with a unique style and artistic taste. His collections are imaginative and inspiring and we look forward to having him as the grand finale designer.”

Sabyasachi Mukherjee said, “It is indeed an honour and privilege to be the ‘Grand Finale’ designer. The ‘Fashion Week’ platform is a powerful one and I hope to be able to create a collection that will delight the patrons of the label. It is a significant engagement between both the brands and I am sure the audiences will be thrilled to view the show and the creations on display.”

The grand finale will be held on April 10.
