The DC asked the candidate whether the people accompanying him were his supporters. Narayanaswamy replied in the affirmative. Taking the DC’s hint, Narayanaswamy asked his supporters to move away.

Later, the Deputy Commissiner saw BJP workers distributing model ballot papers which had the candidate’s picture and the party symbol on them.

He raised an objection and asked his staff to seize the model ballot papers. Meena then counselled Narayanaswamy that such model ballots should not be distributed and that his supporters could not canvass for votes near the booth.

Missing names

More than 50 voters at Ramakrishna Hegde extension in Bangarpet town (booth number 225) held a protest on Saturday morning, alleging that their names were missing from the voters list. They were later pacified.

Tahsildar Nagaraj clarified that their names had not been removed intentionally and they had been deleted while preparing lists before the distribution on EPIC cards.
