'Education must to achieve progress'

Speaking after inaugurating the community hall built by Kodagu Gowda Samaj at Vijaynagar Second Stage here, he said every one born in India has culture and tradition.

Each one has to take birth in one or the other religion. Wherever they are they should respect their culture and thinking. The people belonging to Kodagu Gowda Community youths should become IAS, IPSO officers to make proud their community. At the same time, the community leaders should encourage meritorious students, he added.

The Speaker said those settled in Mysore planned the  bhavan for the welfare of their society. The bhavan should be given for use for others too. The nation progresses if the society develops. Their attitude should be model for others.

Medical Education and District In-Charge Minister S A Ramdas promised free education for the children of Kodagu Gowda community if they wish to appear for the competitive examinations. He said Kodavas are known for patriotism. However, corruption was present in all fields. Along with protecting the borders, they have to check corruption and mould children who give good governance to the nation.

Gowda Samaj President A K Shivaray, Vokkaliga Sangha General Secretary Dr Mahadev, Kodagu Samajas President P Vasu, Madikeri Gowda Samaj President A Anantharam and Kodagu and Dakshina Kannada Gowda Samaj President Prof Nangaru R Lingaraju, Madikeri Kodagugowda Vidya Sangha’s Hosur Ramesh Joyappa were present. Dr Ramachandra and Samaj Secretary Chandera K Basappa also spoke.

Speaker power

Former Mayor, P Vasu said K G Bopaiah was the first speaker who proved the power of Speaker and at the same time he played a vital role in protecting the BJP Government in the State.

Medical Education and District In-Charge Minister S A Ramdas vouched Vasu’s observations. The speaker said he was regretting for his decision as the people were cursing him.
