Remembering their beloved star, the fans said they never felt the void created by his death, as he was immortalised in their memories. Also, they demanded that the State government complete the Raj memorial at the earliest. Artistes and political leaders from various parties attended the versatile actor’s death anniversary at his memorial.

The late actor’s sons Punith Rajkumar, Raghavendra Rajkumar and Shivarajkumar, Rajkumar's sister Nagamma arrived at the memorial at 11 am and offered pooja.

“Memories of my father shall always be cherished by the Kannadigas. The ever increasing visits paid to the memorial is an indication of his place in the hearts of the people,” said Shivarajkumar. He exuded confidence that the work on Raj Memorial would be completed in the next six months.

The Dr Raj Trust has undertaken several pro-people projects. The Trust is planning to make a foray into the education field in the near future, he added. Speaking on the occasion Raghavendra Rajkumar said 'Appaji Sauharda Prashasti' would be givento three artistes on April 24, Rajkumar's birth anniversary.

“Both the Kannada and English version of  ‘The Person Behind The Personality-Dr Rajkumar’ consisting as many as 3,500 rare photographs, articles and interviews will be released in last week of June,” he said. However, MLA N L Narendra Babu accused the  government of lack of will towards completing the memorial. The authorities in Kanteerava Studio should discuss the issue of securing more land with those concerned, as more space is required to house the museum.

Sweets were distributed and lunch was served to fans, who had come from far off places to the studio.
