Around 320 graduate and post graduate students of Dr Ambedkar Evening College, Day College and Institute of Business Administration and Management Studies, took part in the ceremony that marked the end of a milestone in their lives.

The girls were dressed in elegant blue sarees while the boys wore crisp cream shirts and looked ready to take on the world with confidence.

The chief guest for the event was K C Janardhan, Director of Connoisseur’s Quill Inc (handwriting expert). He began his address with the statement — ‘Natural ability without education has more often risen a man to glory and virtue than education without natural ability’, a famous quote by Cicero.

A relevant statement in the current times, as many students find themselves at cross roads while choosing a career. They are faced with the dilemma of choosing a career either based on their educational qualifications or inherent interest. Elaborating on this, he laid emphasis on the need for finding a purpose in life and encouraged students to give back to the society.

The ceremony began with stream wise photo-session which was followed by the oath-taking ceremony. Students solemnly pledged to re-affirm their commitment towards the development of scientific temperament and the spirit of enquiry. They also expressed gratitude to all the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college, who helped the students transform their hopes and dreams into reality, instilling strength in them to face the challenges of the world. Students with outstanding academic performance in each stream were given momentos and honoured for their hard work and perseverance.

The end of the formal ceremony was followed by a host of cultural activities. The modern Ramayana had students in splits of laughter and was a humourous take on the great epic. The cultural programmes ended on a glamourous note with a fashion show. All the events were organised by the juniors who kept the spirits high on the bittersweet day. At the close of the function, students reluctantly walked out of the portals of education to embrace their future.
