Church attacks: Panel issues summons

The Justice Somashekhar Commission, probing into the church attacks refused to exclude a witness, Philomena Raj Williams, from the hearing, and issued summons to him in connection with the irregularities in some of the churches in Mysore.

Following a letter by Robert J Menangis, who alleged certain irregularities in Mysore churches and said that more details were available with Williams, the Commission had summoned the latter. But Williams, abstained from hearing, and submitted through his advocate that he knows certain facts related to the misuse of funds and language discrimination. The Commission, unsatisfied with the answer directed him to appear saying “ the Commission is of the view that an appropriate decision has to be taken regarding this letter and hearing the person.”
