Announcing this at a press conference on Wednesday VTU Vice-Chancellor H Maheshappa said Karnataka governor Hans Raj Bhardwaj would preside over convocation and Director of the Indian Institute of Science Prof P Balaram will deliver convocation address. Higher Education Minister and Pro-Chancellor V S Acharya will also be present.
He said during the 10th annual convocation VTU will confer BE degree on 42,966 students, BArch degree on 185 students, MBA degree on 3765 students, MCA degree on 1838 students, M Tech degree on 1543 students and M Arch degree on six students.
This year VTU is also awarding PhD degrees to 79 students and M Sc (Engg) degrees to 20 students. Dr Masheshappa said VTU's Regional Centre at Gulbarga would be inaugurated on April 15 by Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa.
