JOIN USThe dead is Sridhar (31) of Andhra Pradesh. Sunanda who is said to be his wife, is battling for life. The incident came to light when the neighbours sensed a foul smell coming out of his house at 22nd Main, 24th Cross, HSR Layout.
Police said Sridhar was staying alone and Sunanda used to visit him once or twice a week. It is not known if Sunanda too hailed from Andhra Pradesh.
It is learnt that Sridhar might have married Sunanda but did not bring her to the City for reasons not known. A death note (referring to themselves as ‘we’) was recovered in the house. Police suspect that Sridhar and Sunanda might have consumed poison together in a suicide pact.
Police said Sridhar and Sunanda wanted to get married, but couldn’t. Hence, they might have decided to end life. An unconfirmed report said that the couple might have secretly married a few months ago. Police have not ruled out foul play and are waiting for Sunanda to recover. Police said Sridhar was a recovery agent with the ICICI Bank.
A statement from the bank, however, denied it. Sridhar worked with one of the two recovery agencies - Sri Sai Associates and Om Sri Shakti Associates - hired by the bank two years ago. Later, however, the agreement with the agencies was terminated, the bank officials stated.
