The body of a five-year-old girl was found floating in Chikkadevaraya canal near Pattasomanahalli in the taluk on Saturday evening. Some villagers spotted the body, retrieved it and informed the police.
Police plan to trace the kin using social media. The body has been kept at the mortuary in K R Hospital, Mysuru.
