Human right activists meet on April 22

This was informed to the media here on Saturday by KPCC Legal and Human Rights Panels Chairman C M Dhananjaya.

The conference aims at pondering over the burning issues like corruption in the government and illegal mining, besides stressing for constituting a bench of Supreme Court in Bangalore, a fund of minimum ` five crore for advocates welfare and reserving separate seat in the council for those practicing law.

Union Minister for Law and Justice M Veerappa Moily will inaugurate the programme on the day at 10 am.

AICC spokesperson and Human Rights Wing Chairman Abhishek Singhvi will preside. KPCC Chairman Dr G Parameshwar will deliver the key-note address, while AICC General Secretary Oscar Fernandes will be the chief guest.

Opposition Leader in Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah, Opposition Leader in Legislative Council Motamma, KPCC former president R V Deshpande, former working president D K Shivakumar, AICC Legal and Human Rights Wing Secretary K C Mithal, chairman of Tamil Nadu wing M Muththuswamy, Kerala Chairman Asif Ali, Andhra Pradesh Chairman Purushothama Reddy, Rajasthan PCC President Susheel, additional solicitor general M Raveendran are among the dignitaries attending the programme.

About three thousand workers of the party from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry and Kerala are expected to participate in the event.
