Boy drowns in river

Robert Narasing (11), had got into the river, along with his friend Sundara, to collect money thrown into the water by devotees travelling on the bridge. Narasing drowned when he dipped into the river to collect the offerings.

When Narasing did not come out of the water, Sundara went to the former’s house and reported the matter to his parents. A search for the boy’s body was launched on Saturday evening, but could not be traced. It was found floating in the water near Koutha bridge on Sunday morning. A case has been registered at the Janawada police station.
