'Part with land for good roads'

He was speaking after launching road works worth Rs one crore in Chikkaballapur taluk’s Nallaralahalli village in Mandikal hobli on Monday and said, “In rural areas that too in hamlets to provide basic amenities, roads are very essential. In the backdrop of this landowners and villagers should cooperate.”

Under the Prime Minister’s Gram Sadak scheme four km to 10 km stretch of road was being build in Nallarahalli village. This is going to be a connecting road to other villages which will be useful to the people of this region, he said.

Once the road work is completed, it becomes very important for the villagers to use and maintain the road properly. They should not allow the condition of the roads to deteriorate at any cost., Bachchegowda warned them.

A high quality road can be maintained for a long time, he added.

Rs 55 crore worth development works has been sanctioned in and around Mandikal hobli. All the works will be completed in stages which will benefit the villagers, he said.

Taluk panchayat vice president Venkatanaryanappa, leaders K T Narayanswamy, H V Govindaswamy, Aruru Venkatreddy, Manju, Devaraj, Byrappa, Yerappa and other were present.
