A splendid showcase of talents

The day-long event had a lot of activities planned for everyone present.

 While the morning session was filled with official programmes, the afternoon session was all about unleashing the cultural and creative sides of students. The function was presided by Krishna Kumar, the vice president of MES and the chief guest for the day was Kalyan Kumar Banerjee of MindTree Ltd.

The day started with the release of the college magazine ‘Manjari’ which was followed Kalyan Kumar Banerjee addressing the audience. He dwelt on how to advance in one’s career.  He also did a relative comparison of the present and past generation. “We are living in a time when the market is abundant with choices so it is imperative to take the right decision when it comes to choosing from what is available,” he said.

He also spoke a little on the qualities of a good leader. The speech ended with an applause from the students and was followed by a prize distribution ceremony for the deserving students.

The cultural function started in the afternoon and was filled with lots of energy and josh. The entire college was decked to suit the festive mood and the spirit of the occasion was evident on the face of every student.

There were both traditional and contemporary performances, all of which kept the audience glued to their seats for quite a while.

The entertainment programme started with a music ensemble by the students followed by a bharathnatyam dance performance by Purnima, a student.  This was followed by a contemporary dance by a group called ‘Aishwarya and Co’. Next was mono acting based on the epic ‘Bhaktha Prahlada’ by Kishore, another student of the college.

This got the maximum applause out of the audience and was simply amazing.
A sizzling group dance by Swathi and team added to the mood of the day while the group fusion dance on Bollywood songs was electrifying.

The annual day celebrations closed with the students of final year batch of B Com and BBM speaking a little about their time in the college and filling the air with nostalgia. All in all, it was day dedicated to celebrate the talents of the students of the college.
