Serial killers' arrest shocks Tirthahalli

The police had arrested Prema from Tenkabail in the taluk, her nephew Raghavendra and Sundaresh from Tuduki.

It is learnt that Prema was initially married to Basavaraj of Shimoga. They later parted ways. Prema shifted base to Bangalore and joined a garments factory.

Prema’s brother-in-law Dinesh was working in Jindal company in Bangalore. Prema was introduced to Sundaresh thro- ugh Dinesh. Owing to marital discord, Dinesh is said to have murdered his mother, wife and children, before killing himself.

In a bid to make a fast buck, Prema, Raghavendra and Sundaresh got themselves involved in various crimes. Prema is also alleged to have been involved in flesh trade and a case of sandalwood theft. Doubts have been raised whether the gang is responsible for the murder of several girls reported to be missing in the taluk.
