"I will step down the moment the Mayor reveals the names of the criminals I had recommended. These are all baseless allegations," said Nagaraj at a press conference to counter the allegations made by Nataraj and the floor leader of the BBMP council Katte Satyanarayana.

Rubbishing Satyanarayana's statement that he had suggested 41 names and all of them got the award, Nagaraj said he had recommended 13 names out of which only eight got the award.

He added he stayed away from the selection process when the list of awardees exceeded 160.

Continuing his tirade against the mismanagement during the award, Nagaraj said many people who got the award had not even submitted their bio-data.
He demanded an inquiry by the Commissioner into the ‘Kempegowda award scam.’
