One more held for realtor's murder

Rahman (22), a resident of Chamarajpet, has been arrested for killing  B Nanjundappa at Sanjeevini Nagar, in Moodalapalya.

“Rahman was close to Akram, the main suspect. He bought a pistol from Jharkhand and gave it to Akram a year ago. We suspect that the same pistol was used to gun down Nanjundappa,” DCP (West) N S Siddaramappa said.

Meanwhile, police have intensified the manhunt for Akram who is  believed to have shot at Dhanraj T, a police informant and a neighbour of Nanjundappa, on April 15.

Heroin found in parcel

Heroin worth Rs 2.5 lakh, parcelled via a private courier agency, was seized by customs officials in Chamarajpet on Thursday.

Sources said the parcel was sent from Mangalore and did not have a proper address.

The courier agency received the parcel three days ago. The staff waited for three days expecting the receiver to claim the parcel.

When no one came forward to claim the parcel, the customs officials were alerted. Later, it was found to be containing heroin.

Gold chain snatched

A 53-year-old woman’s 50-gm gold chain was snatched by two unidentified motorcycle-borne persons at Gayatri Nagar near Subramanya Nagar on Wednesday night.

Ratna Bai of 1st Main, Gayatri Nagar, was returning home from her mother’s house when the incident occurred around 10.15 pm, police said.
