No cabinet expansion in immediate future, says Yeddyurappa

"There is no ministry expansion in the immediate future," Yeddyurappa, who had last month said he would undertake the expansion after the April 9 byelections to three assembly segments, told reporters here.

In the past few months, Yeddyurappa had on several occasions said he would expand his ministry, seen by observers as an attempt to quell dissidence against him.

He denied reports that construction activity continued on the residential plot allotted to his MP son, B Y Raghavendra in Bangalore, which had already been returend after allegations of nepotism surfaced.

The site which Raghavendra returned to the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) had now been allotted to BJP leader Basavaraj Patil Sedam, he said adding the construction work was on at the site of BJP MLC Bharati Shetty.

Yeddyurappa was speaking after handing over the keys of 100 houses built by software major Infosys for flood affected families in Ferozabad.T V Mohandas Pai,who quit Infosys and its Board of Directors last week, said the company has constructed 1714 houses for the flood displaced in Gulbarga, Raichur, Dharwad and Yadgir.

The construction activity at Raichur and Yadgir has been completed and Infosys expected to handover these houses by this May end, he said.

"We are proud to have partnered with the state government in providing relief to flood victims and giving them an opportunity to improve their living conditions", Infosys CEO Kris Gopalakrishnan said.
