'Murdered' boy returns after 1 year; father in jail

But the cruel miscarriage of justice in Aniket’s murder case is emphasised by the fact that his father who is accused of killing him still languishes in jail.

Ganesh Sah, who has been in jail for 11 months, pleaded innocence when accused of killing his son Aniket, but his father-in-law Raghunath Sah lodged a murder case against him in May 2010 alleging that his son-in-law had killed his maternal grandson.

The Bachwara police in Begusarai district, some 200 kilometres from here, after investigation, found that Aniket was missing soon after Raghunath transferred a huge chunk of land to his grandson.

During interrogation, Aniket said he washed utensils and did other menial jobs in Patna to eke out a living. Ganesh has, meanwhile, decided to move the court next week for his early release from jail.
