Whether these times are productive or not, they are the moments that everyone cherishes years later. The students of Reva Institute of Technology and Management are no different. While they attend their classes on time, the students also find a lot of time to enjoy the freedom offered by the college. The institute, which is located near Yelahanka, may be far away from the City but the students aren’t complaining at all.

“Most of the time we sit in the lawn. We have a lot of gardens in the campus and my favourite is the one with the mango tree. My friends and I call it the ‘Mango Lawn’. I sit there and watch matches being played on the ground,” says Amulya, a second year student. “The lawn is very cool and shady. It’s relaxing and we sit there everyday after class,” says Varsha Thomas, a student. There is another reason that this place is the most preferred. “The teachers rarely come to the garden,” says Dijin, another student. “We celebrate all the birthdays and also have the cake cutting ceremonies here only,” he adds.

Some students are extremely passionate about sports. “I often go to the sports room during my free time to play table tennis, carom or chess,” says Conan Michael Reynolds, a electronics student. “My friends and I also take the equipment out to the ground and play there sometimes,” he adds. Other than the greenery and the sports facilities, it is the food that brings all the students together. “The college canteen was not so great last year but the food has improved this year. Many students hang out there often,” says Amulya. “I hang out either in the mess or the canteen with my friends. I don’t really venture out of the college campus,” says Conan.

Other than the mess and canteen, there are other places that get a lot of visitors. “There is a bakery under the boy’s hostel which serves really good ‘paneer’ puffs. We also have a new momo place near the mechanical block where we hang out,” says Megha, a student. “The momo shop is a big hit among all the students,” says Dijin. “Outside college, we generally go to a place that serves awesome Maggi noodles and cold coffee. There is also a juice centre that we go to,” says Varsha. With so much around them, these students seem to be making the best of their college time in the company of friends and some tasty food.
