“Leander and I will be playing together at the French Open,” said Bhupathi at a press meet where he was unveiled as the brand ambassador of Candor International School.
Bhupathi, however, wasn’t keen on predicting the pair’s chances in the May 17-June 5 event at Roland Garros. “We will try our best,” said Bhupathi, who along with Paes had tasted French Open success in 1999 and 2001.

The Indian pair has had a fantastic start to the year when they won the Sony Ericsson Open to climb to the top of doubles ranking earlier this month. Being an Olympic qualifying year, the duo’s progress draws more attention than usual but the 36-year-old said there was enough time left to start thinking about the London meet. “The Olympics is far away, am not thinking about it now,” pointed out Bhupathi.

Bhupathi’s Globosport company will help Candor develop infrastructure and nurture talent in various sports disciplines, especially tennis. “My initiative is to help the school with sports infrastructure and set up the Mahesh Bhupathi Tennis Academy.”
