'Chances of jobs increase if trained in computers, electronics'

He was speaking at the inauguration of a training programme on ‘Basic electrical and electronics’ at JSS ITI College, here on Wednesday.

Krishnappa said that training programmes were a foundation for students and self-employment is most beneficial to them. He opined that instead of waiting to serve in a government job, youngsters should avail training in such programmes and try to become entrepreneurs.

Villagers’ woes

ITI College Principal B C Eerappaji said that there are no experienced technicians to repair electronic goods.

Villagers are facing a huge problem due to this issue.  Many a time technicians are coming from other cities to encash on the opportunities available, he added.

Training is being provided on DTH installation, repair of UPS and household electrical appliances. CDS President Hemavathi, Hamjad Pasha, Dr S Puttaswamy and others were present.
