JOIN USSpeaking to reporters here on Friday, Patil, a staunch follower of Opposition leader in the Assembly Siddaramaiah, said neglecting Lingayats will not augur well for the party.
He pointed out that veteran leader and former chief minister Dharam Singh has expressed his concern over injustice meted out to Muslims in the party but nobody has talked about injustice caused to Lingayats.
“In the recent past a demand had been made to make a Lingayat leader as the KPCC president. Shamanur Shivashankarappa, Dr Malaka Reddy and Veeranna Mattikatti whose names had been suggested for the president’s post have been dropped from the KPCC office bearers list. This has sent a wrong signal to the powerful Lingayat community’,” Patil, a two-time MLA and one-time MLC, said.
