JOIN USThe entire coastal area of Dakshina Kannada will be divided into five zones for the implementation of the cleaning campaign. Each of these zones is headed by a district-level officer. The five zones identified include beach from Talapady to Nethravathi, Bengre to NMPT South, Panambur to Hosabettu, Hosabettu to Sasihithlu, and Chitrapura to Hejmady.
An initiative of the Deputy Commissioner Subodh Yadav, the campaign intends to mobilise the community members to clean the beach and create an awareness among them to stop harming the beauty of the beaches. In the backdrop of the campaign, the Deputy
Commissioner has said, there is a need to find good team organisers who would take up the continuous task of cleaning the beach, as the soul of this drive is based on the public participation. “The district administration expects more than 8000 volunteers to participate in the mega clean-up drive. The ambulance, food, transport, equipment arrangements have also been made,” he said.
The campaign will be inaugurated in different spots including Mukkacheri, Mogaveerpattana, Kotepura, Someshwara Temple, Battapadi, Mahajana Sabha, Foot Ball Ground Bengre and other places.
