Impressive throughout the tournament, having won all five matches during the league phase, the Kolkata side was tipped to go the distance without much of fuss and did so in superb fashion, sealing an emphatic win in a lop-sided title clash at the Sree Kanteerava stadium.

For their efforts, the Kolkatans were awarded Rs 50,000 while Government Sports School took home Rs 30,000. Man of the match and the best striker of the tournament Harijan set the tempo for the visitors, firing home as early as in the third minute after being set up by midfielder Jayanto Mondal. However, the home side fought back quickly, Anthony Rushith S equalising in the very next minute.

But just when it appeared as if an equal contest was on the cards, Harijan restored the lead for Sukantha Nagar in the 12th minute before Sahid Hossain put it beyond the home side’s reach in the 19th minute.
