India’s challenge ended in the junior girls section after Ankita Das went down to Ayuka Tanioka 0-4 in pre-quarterfinal.
Mallika Bhandarkar got a first round bye in the cadet girls singles while compatriot Camelia Sil went down 0-3 to Liu Xi of China.
