JOIN USSavio outclassed statemate Kishen S 6-1, 7-5. Prajna had to ward off a spirited fightback from Shrayashree T of Tamil Nadu before prevailing 6-3, 1-6, 6-2. Prajna also won the under-14 singles to complete a double while Savio partnered Kishen to pocket the under-16 doubles. Savio was in his elements in the first set, going up 4-0 before Kishen pulled one back. Savio used his forehand to good effect as he nullfied Kishen’s serve completely.
Savio’s drop shots and cross-court returns had Kishen struggling for answers. Savio wrapped up the set easily at 6-1.
