Prayers held in Kashmir for bin Laden

The call for prayers was given by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, chairman of hard line faction of Hurriyat Conference on Thursday. Police said the call was largely ignored by people.

Geelani, placed under house arrest, was released and he offered the prayers at Batamaloo. “Osama is a martyr who fought against American oppression,” he said. After the prayers, anti-US demonstrations were also held.
