Girl axed to death by sister in Rajasthan

Amiya Prajapat used to complain to her parents that her older sister Fawdi (18) talked to her fiance over the phone.

Fawdi, who was recently engaged, was beaten by her parents several times after Amiya's complaints."Fawdi was unhappy with her sister's envy and wanted to take revenge. On Thursday night, when their parents were not at home, she attacked Amiya with an axe, killing her on the spot," the police said.

The local sarpanch informed police about the incident following which Fawdi was arrested yesterday.She was produced before a magistrate today who remanded her to two days' police custody, they said.
