You can go Fast and Furious in Ulsoor Lake waters, soon

Top sources in BBMP stated that a proposal to introduce speed boats will be realised by the end of summer this year. The speed boats are also likely to provide water skiing facility on Ulsoor Lake for those who dare.

The BBMP received a proposal from a firm from Jammu and Kashmir to introduce the joy ride in the lake earlier this month under a public private partnership (PPP) model.

“The adventure initiative was made by the company based on their successful venture in Dal Lake, Srinagar which was introduced sometime ago,” sources said.

The company will be ferrying four speed boats, likely to be imported from a Western source.
The fee the firm will charge the adventure enthusiasts is yet to be decided, the source added.

Sources state that apart from the entertainment which it will provide for the people, the proposal will also help maintain clear waters in the lake.

“The heavy duty rotors of the boats will ensure that the water is cleaned regularly,” said the sources.

It is learnt that the project has evoked a positive response from the officials.

“We are now awaiting the proposal to be sent to the Commissioner and the Standing Committee on Horticulture for their approval,” the sources said.
