JOIN USAddressing a news conference on Tuesday, former MLA Vijay Kumar Shetty said that the BJP Government in MCC has unscientifically hiked the taxes, thereby posing lot of inconvenience to the people.
“A shopkeeper who used to pay Rs 160 per year towards tax, now pays Rs 600 per year after the hike. The authorities are imposing solid waste management cess even before the waste collection proceedure has started,” he said.
He further added that despite the Urban Development Minister himself saying that the CDP rules will be simplified, no action has been taken in this regard yet.
He said that though Krishna Palemar and Yogish Bhat, hailing from the region are holding high posts in the BJP Government in the State, they have not done anything to solve the problems and confusions persisting in MCC.
