Jitender, competing in his first tournament since his bronze medal winning performance at the 2009 Asian Senior Boxing Championship, lost 8:12 to Jakipov of Tajikistan.
Jitender took a 2:1 lead after the opening round. But Jakipov came back strongly in the second to open a two points lead and stretched the lead in the third to settle the issue.
"I am disappointed with the result but satisfied my performance in the tournament. This was my first competition after a long break and I hope to do well with more match practice," said Jitender.
Santosh, a silver medallist at the 34th National Games in Jharkand, fought hard against Ali Baybozov of Kazakhstan before the latter edged him out with a 10:9 scoreline.
Santosh was leading 2:1 after the first round but lost the advantage to the Kazakh boxer with the score tied at seven all after the second. There was not much separating the two in the final round before the local boxer emerged as the winner.
