The Congress activists led by City Congress President Dasegowda and the mayor staged stir near the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

They said the government and Speaker K G Bopaiah misused their powers in disqualifying its 11 MLAs.

Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa adopted unfair and illegal practices to pass the trust vote in the Assembly. There is a constitutional crisis in the state as the Speaker has violated the decorum of his office, they alleged.

Former mayor Modamani, Hinkal Prakash and others were present.

In his reaction to the political developments, MP Adagur H Vishwanath has said that all parties irrespective of BJP or Congress should respect the President and centre’s decision  on the crisis in the government. “The centre will review the situation and will act according to the constitutional spirit,” he added.
