The Governor will also be urged to order a CBI probe into illegal mining in Karnataka.
Congressmen are busy strategising their next move. If at all they have to go to the hustings anytime in the near future, their only means of "breaking the BJP's swelling vote bank" is to get Yeddyurappa “arrested".

Sources in the party say that Yeddyurappa and his men, including the Bellary Reddys, have managed to evade the long arm of law because they are in power.

But once they are out of power, they will have to face action.  Asked if the BJP would not become stronger if its government was dismissed, KPCC President G Parameshwar said: “The BJP has managed to remain in power despite its illegal acts. The DMK has lost power in Tamil Nadu. Similarly, if elections are held here, the BJP may not come back to power. We can’t be oblivious to the happenings now, assuming that Lingayats will further consolidate to ensure that Yeddyurappa remains in power.”

Alliance with JD(S)

Will the Congress join hands with JD(S) to form a government in case such a situation arises?

“Such a possibility will also be explored,” Parameshwar said. The JD(S) is learnt to be keen on forming an alternative government with the Congress, if the BJP government is ousted.

Sources said JD(S) State President H D Kumaraswamy believes that BJP’s misdeeds can be exposed after coming to power, besides winning the confidence of the people by providing good governance over the next two years.
