Members of the party legal think tank including Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley have conveyed to the BJP State leadership that the Governor’s case seeking the invocation of Article 356 in the State has no merit.
The BJP which has already launched its street war against Bhardwaj by holding protests and sending its legislators to meet the President, is also planning its political and legal strategies to tackle the situation.
The division among members of the high profile Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA), which will have to take a decision on the Governor’s recommendation, has come as a succour to the BJP.
Politically, the BJP is also aligning all its NDA partners together to put up an united show on the issue.
The party is also building a case to immediately challenge any adverse decision of CCPA in the Supreme Court, if it goes ahead and accepts the Governor’s recommendation.
