'Ambedkar, a master humanitarian'

He was speaking after inaugurating the birth anniversary celebrations of Dr Ambedkar, Babu Jagjivan Ram and Buddha Jayanthi at Netaji Playground in Mulbagal, on Tuesday. The programmes were organised by the taluk administration.

“ There is need to imbibe the values and thinking of Ambedkar. He had played a massive role in inculcating self-respect among the dalits, downtrodden and the oppressed,” he added.

Also speaking on the occasion, Dalit Sangrasha Samiti (DSS) founding member Nagaraj said it was heartening to know that people who fight for the dalit cause are felicitated during Ambedkar Jayanthi celebrations, organised by the Taluk administration.

Tahsildar P Jayamadhav urged the youths to emulate Ambedkar’s thoughts.

The contribution of Babu Jagjivan Ram in bringing about the Green Revolution in India, is immeasurable. Whereas Buddha was a greatest source of inspiration to both Ambedkar and Jagjivan Ram, he said.
