He was addressing a dharna staged by the Dakshina Kannada District Congress Unit urging for the dismissal of the BJP government, in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office on Thursday.

Criticising the Chief Minister, Badruddin said that the State, which had reached No.1 position in the developmental index during S M Krishna led Congress government in the state, has now reached No.1 position in corruption.

“Karnataka has become the most corrupt State in our nation. Chief Minister Yeddyurappa is supporting his cabinet ministers in all their misdeeds. A day may come in future when Yeddyurappa would buy this entire State using his money power,” he said.
Congress leader Harikrishna Bantwal called it a tragedy as CM is just taking the faith of the people for granted.

“Yeddyurappa and the Assembly Speaker have broken the norms and are following unconstitutional rule. Moreover the CM is trying to drive away Governor Hansraj Bhardwaj who is making his honest attempt to recommend Presidential rule for the State,” he said.

He justified the Congress stir against the BJP and said that it is the way of functioning of the BJP government, which has forced the Congress to get out on streets to fight against it.

The Congress party does not intend to bring anarchy in the State, but it only wants the BJP government to act responsibly," he stated.
