"We would like to finish on a winning note. We are keen to get off from the bottom of the points tables. We have not achieved our target this season and would look to end the season with a win," said Shipperd.

There is not much to play for barring pride in tomorrow's clash and Delhi would look to avoid a last-place finish against the ninth-placed IPL debutants Pune, who are also out of the reckoning for a play-off berth.

The Delhi team has struggled upfront in the absence of seasoned campaigners. The Daredevils' biggest let-down this season have been the batsmen's none-too-impressive showing while the bowling too lacked consistency.

The poor team composition also added to their misery, resulting in the middle-order finding it difficult to handle the pressure.

Delhi have been further weakened by the departure of their only marquee player and captain Virender Sehwag due to a shoulder injury. Before Sehwag's injury, the Indian opener's form was linked to Delhi's success and whenever he fired, the team fared better.

Since his departure, stand-in captain James Hopes has struggled to lead a team that has some talented youngsters such as Naman Ojha and Varun Aaron in its ranks, but lacks match-winners like some of the others teams.

"We have a fairly young side and they will find their feet in the coming future. Varun Aaron, Umukut Chand and Umesh Yadav have been our positive findings this season. Sehwag is an excellent player but it would be unfair to rely only on our middle order. You need team effort to win the matches," the coach said.

Shipperd said they have already started working on the IPL season 5 and hoped to make it to the semifinals next time.

"We hope to make it to the semis. We have started on the next season. We are into a review process. We will bounce back strongly next year and things will change for us next season," said a confident Shipperd.

He said Delhi's most expensive buy this season, pacer Irfan Pathan has re-discovered his lost touch.

"Irfan is coming out nicely. He is bowling rapidly and scoring runs for the team. He has also helped the team with his experience. It's a good sign for Indian team," he added.
On a comeback trail, Pathan shone in patches giving the team breakthroughs besides producing some cameos with the willow.

Pathan bowled with enough zeal in the last match, against Punjab, picking up three wickets including those of Paul Valthaty and the in-form Shaun Marsh.
