<p>Speaking to Deccan Herald, Park Director H Jayaprakash Bhandary said the one-and-half year old ‘Ponnu’ gave birth to a healthy calf ‘Kinni’ weighing 410 gms on July 23. Both mother and daughter have been shifted to an isolation ward and are under close supervision of the park staff. <br /><br />Mouse deer which is close to deer family and grows upto 14 inches long. It was common in this region a few years ago. However, now it has become endangered owing to hunting.</p>
