They were competing in the ‘Basava Cup’ organised jointly by the Negilayogi Samaja Seva Trust and Mysore Kusti Abhivrudhi Seva Trust as part of Basava Jayanthi celebrations.
Even though Younis Khan of the Diwankhan Garadi was a touch bigger than Darshan of the Eshwarraya Garadi, his agile moves left the latter beleaguered. However, Darshan held on during the 10 minute tussle to ensure that the match ended in a draw.
The first duel between Shivakumar of the Kalaiah Garadi and Narayan of the Ganjam Garadi also ended in a draw. In the second match, Rajesh of the Deburu Hathu Janagala Garadi defeated Manjunath of the Mayanna Garadi.
Hosamutt Seer Sri Chidananda, MLC Thontadarya, Councillor R Lingappa, Ganesh, Student Jayaram, Negila Yogi Trust’s Ravikumar, Prahlad Rao, Tiger Balaji and others were present.
