Suranjoy to lead Indian challenge in Cuba

The 25-year-old, who won seven straight international gold medals between 2009 and 2010 before his streak ended with a bronze in the Asian Games. “I won a silver medal when I went to this event in Cuba last year. I hope to get a gold this time. What will work to my advantage is the new scoring pattern which promotes aggressive boxing,” said the boxer.

Among others, it is a comeback for Thokchom Nanao Singh (49kg), 17-year-old Shiva Thapa (56kg) and 18-year-old Asian Games gold medallist Vikas Krishnan (69kg).
